Anna is a tremendous tour guide! Even though my friends and I had already spent a few days in Nice, this tasting tour exposed us to a whole new side of local cuisine… There was literally a surprise around every corner!

We have done a few food tours in Italy and Spain, and this would be one of the best. Anna our guide was really friendly, knowledgeable and had the best food spots. A have to do in Nice!

Having traveled extensively and being cooks and foodies we were all surprised that she could keep springing tastes on us that we'd never tried before… We're home now, and we're making socca tonight.

Why walk with us

For centuries, the Mediterranean has been a crossroads of people, cultures and traditions, with ingredients and recipes travelling from one shore to another. Those journeys still live in its markets, kitchens and dishes passed down through generations.

The Mediterranean is a continuous conversation, and food is how you listen to it.

Taste it, and you begin to understand the place, not just visit it.

That is what we are here for. You will eat extremely well, and you will also leave with a feel for how much this stretch of the world holds: why its food tastes the way it does, and how much history sits on the table in front of you.

The walk

One walk, both sides of the city.

Start with the recipes and traditions passed down through generations, then taste how a new generation of chefs is reinventing them. Twelve tastings over three hours, wine included, and enough of it to replace lunch.

Tradition & Reinvention

Taste the original. Then taste what happens next.

3 hours · 12 tastingsTue – Sun

A walking feast through Vieux Nice and the Port, following the dishes that have fed the city for generations. Tear into hot socca straight from the copper pan, share crisp courgette flowers and petits farcis over a cold glass of rosé.

Along the way, discover how fishermen, farmers, trade and necessity created la cuisine nissarde, food once born from very little and now fiercely protected as part of the city's identity.

Then taste where the Riviera is going. A new generation of chefs works with the same citrus, flowers, chickpeas and market vegetables, turning them into something entirely their own. Familiar flavours come back in unexpected forms: refined, playful and unmistakably Mediterranean.

Come hungry. Eat with your fingers. Leave knowing Nice differently.

How a walk works

Come for the food, leave with more

Visitors walking a narrow street in Old Nice, market stalls and shuttered facades on either side
01

Walk the city

We explore on foot, moving between markets, neighbourhood institutions, small producers and tables we love.

A shared table of pissaladière, courgette flowers, tomatoes and bread, forks reaching across it
02

Taste as we go

Some stops are standing, some sitting, some just a bite worth crossing town for. Tastings are generous and chosen to tell the story of the place.

03

Hear the stories behind the food

Your host connects what you taste to the people, traditions, migrations and exchanges that shaped it, so you leave understanding the city differently.

04

Meet, share & stay curious

Small groups mean conversations happen naturally, with your host and with the people you're walking alongside. You'll leave with new connections, a handful of local addresses and plenty of ideas for what to eat, see and discover next.

Your host

Walk with someone who calls this place home.

Our hosts aren't following a script. They live here, know the people behind the counters and understand the stories behind what you're eating. Think less tour guide, more knowledgeable local taking you to the places they want you to know.
